a question about planetary signs on Purgatory afterglow

looking on "Purgatory Afterglow" cd booklet overleaf picture, i spotted a couple of planetary signs there - and still can not find a plausable explation for such a wierd symbolism. Is it a sort of astrological projection attributed to Edge of Sanity members or a self-irony worth of postmodern hipster?

Those planetary signs follow the lyrics for every track, and for the "Produced by" and "Recorded and mixed in UNISOUND" info. My guess would be that they are the signs under which each of the band members was born. Is this when the "artist formerly known as Prince" changed to that symbol-thing? If so, oh, hilarious!
