Dude, all you have to do is just use column view in the Finder and you can play files of any format/resolution. No DAW launch necesarry.

I don't know what that means, probably because I'm not on a mac

And I guess if all those other players can do it without any trouble, I'll download one for that purpose (but I'm still not bailing on WMP, I much prefer it's media library organization over itunes, and it opens SO much faster). Still, mp3's download quicker, and can be opened anywhere...
