A simple tip for the day

when tracking drums, make sure the cymbals aren't moving horizontally against the stands. use plenty of felts and tighten up enough so they don't hit against. simple fix for something that sounds disgustingly piercing through the mics.

If you keyhole my cymbals I will kill you. It might feel cool to bash my cymbals and have them swinging around, but it sounds like shit and you hit your snare like a pussy.
