A sneak peak

Happy to make you guys smile. We needed to cut loose today and screw around after hitting this new material as hard as we have been, and so we tried our grind on. hahaha!

I think we can comfortably say the foundation is now laid for the entire CD, and from now until mid January, we refine and tighten what we have. The material feels really good, and I do believe you guys will be pleased.

You never know though... A GRIND song could sneak it's way in. We're CLEARLY masters at it.

Can you give us any more hints as to how the new material is sounding?

Paul actually went and put that clip up, lol, that's funny!

Any more hints, you say? Hmmm.....it's hard to really give any more hints that I can think of. The stuff sounds pretty dark at times, there's plenty of melody going on.....doesn't really tell you too much, lol.

There's faster bits, there's some slow doom bits, there's my Pink Floyd Gilmour influences creeping in on at least a song or two......there's some pretty intense drum stuff going on (no grinds, lol, but definitely some intense heavy drumming at times)....my personal feeling is that the new stuff is a sum of what we've done on the last few albums, PLUS some new things. It feels like the natural next step. Which is very important to us, and a reason why it's taken us this long to write the new cd.....we won't put out a new cd unless and until we know we've arrived at that next step that feels right to everyone.

New material... I would say it has the darkness of Pale Haunt, the aggression of Novella, and the melody of To Welcome the Fade. Usually I'm sort of uncomfortable with out material until it's fully recorded, and I hear it "properly" but this new stuff feels really good already. Like I said, if you're a fan of our last few CD's, this shouldn't disappoint you. But like Larry's said, there's plenty of new stuff to hear on this as well. Recording with a new drummer will automatically change the dynamic a bit, and I don't mean in a bad way.
