I am surprised that this has not been discussed on this board yet. John Arch was the former singer of the band Fates Warning and recently he put out a new EP after 16 years of music hiatus called "A Twist of Fate". He worked with Jim Matheos, Mike Portnoy, and Joey Vera. Very cool music and the vocal melodies are outrageous. 2 songs total of 28 minutes.

John gets very personal in the lyrics singing about his life, family, and ideology. Some of the best lyrics I have read in a while.

I highly suggest you check this CD out.

I will. I've always been a fan of Spectre Within and Awaken the Guardian-era Fates Warning.
I didn't even know he put out an EP.

The EP is a great comeback for him, and the songs are of epic length and contain elements of, ironically enough, just about every FW phase except the first three albums (with excellent musicianship by Matheos, Vera, and Portnoy), although his distinctive vocals are remarkably intact after such a long period of inactivity.
