Now that Alive Again has been released, I'm throwing out the idea for a Nightingale box set. How cool would it be to have all four Nightingale releases in a single box set, in story order, with all the lyrics and drawings and liner notes and extra stuff?

I actually got the idea for this because I did something similar to this for carrying the albums around with me. I burned copies of my Nighingale CDs to keep in the car and made them all look similar, with album color schemes and matching logo colors for each part of the story, and labeled them parts I - IV. It would make a very nice 'tall storybook' type release, you could put 2 discs on either side with a fat booklet in the middle, much like the Police box set that is out.

Just a thought.

I would like to know what Dan and Dag think of this idea!

It would be good but I would rather have it when all the Nightingale albums are out and it is considered as a "done" project

This would be a good idea, but only if the story is actually finished and they don't decide to come out with a Breathing Shadow V sometime down the road.

I remember I got the Star Trek I - V boxset, and I was all excited. But then a year later they came out with part VI.

So I had a nice little boxset + an extra casette in my collection. That really pissed me off.

A good idea but very unlikely. If you put out boxes you need to sell lots of records and, as someone pointed out, i don´t know if the story is finished yet. I think a "box" with two Cd´s containing livestuff, demos, re-recorded, remastered, odd tracks ect. would be more interesting. Anyone with a CD burner and imagination kan do their own boxset as you did. I have best of´s made of every artist i like and it´s cool. If you want pix to you´r box go to Ivan´s site, he has some nice ones :)

Yeah, Dag, I agree, a box set with unreleased tracks and live stuff *would* be more interesting than a re-release of the story material. I've got some live stuff and some of Dan's rare songs but that's not enough to do it on my own! Well, a person can dream.

Remind me to stay away from the Dag and Erik pictures. Heh.
