About AMG...

I read bios and reviews quite frequently on this site (allmusic.com), and I think it is a very resourceful website. However, they are uber obsessed by Queensryche's Operation : Mindcrime. Every fucking time I read a review of a conceptual album, from Symphony X's V to Mayhem's Grand Declaration of War they refer to O:M.

Don't get me wrong, I like Queensryche and Operation : Mindcrime is obviously one of their best work, but I would never ever refer to this album as the ultimate masterpiece in metal history.

Your thoughs about either this weird obsession, Queensryche's album or the AMG site are welcome.

It's just a point of comparison. It's the most well known metal concept album, so of course it's going to be the basis of comparison.

On that note, I have a feeling that I'm spelling comparison wrong, but it's almost bed time, so I don't care.

AMG is a piece of crap, because they always get their facts wrong. The band database is pretty comprehensive, but if you want decent bios and reviews for metal bands, http://www.metal-archives.com will probably serve you better.
