Is the Nasheim-cd considered as the debut full lenght or not? This is really good stuff, although you need a real drummer! Can't wait for the 7" split with _________, oh yeah, I shouldn't said anything. :loco:

A bit drunk here, listening some records that have been unplayed for too long period.

I thought it was the second demo, put to CD with the previous demo + cover. I listened to the Nasheim CD just yesterday. As well as the previous material, the Bathory cover is really, really good.

Also, I notice no credits for synths/keys? Who's playing them?

Is it me or is the volume recording really low on the CD? I find myself having to turn it up pretty loud just to hear it at an acceptable level.

As a musician, it's all very hard, as you've recorded 1 or 2 demos, people expect you to do a full lenght debut in no time. And when recording, you notice you can't capture the same feeling that the demos had and have you to write everything (all new songs) for the debut, maybe use song or two from the demos, but it's hard. Nasheim is great, but how will the full lenght be? Don't rush with it!

Yes, this CD is in my top 25 evar list. My thoughts are summed up in my Metal-Archives review- and Jay, yes the mix is sort of low on the album. I don't know if the band would like me answering the question, but I'm pretty sure all of the synth arrangements and set-ups were done by Erik.

Yea, I thought Mike wouldn't play on an album with synths or some shit. A lot of that stuff sounds powerful similar to synths if you ask me, but hey...

it's not neccessarily "synths" but programmed ambience, I guess. The beginning of "Ändlös Flykt Från Tiden" is the most obvious example. If I'm wrong, shoot me, but I'm almost positive I know what I'm talking about.

Firstly, thanks for the praise and stuff. No, this is not our "debut full-length", I don't consider it a proper album. It's a collection of... stuff.

Secondly, the split 7" turned into a split 10" and now a split 12" (long songs ya know...)

Thirdly, we are in NO RUSH with the full-length. It's done when it's done.

Fourthly (is that even a word?) the LP edition of E/U is out soon.

Oh but there are, there's the choir sample on "Blood, Fire, Death", only to stay true to Quorthon's original. Those aren't played but programmed. On the original material, however, there are no synths. Lots of people (like Marksveld, apparently... Hah!) think the intro to "Ändlös..." is a synth; it's an electric guitar through a bunch of effects. No keys or programming whatsoever involved.

It's not that we're quiet, it's that everyone else is too loud. Fuck off today's ridiculous loud and undynamic masters is all I have to say to that. Maybe if you paired it up with your 80's CD releases of Megadeth and Maiden you wouldn't find it so quiet after all.

I agree 100%. I have spoken to Blut & Eisen and NSP about this and they understand; I'd rather spend 5 years on an album and have it turn out fucking great (Sigrblot, Mayhem) than churn out two mediocre ones a year (not going to mention names *COUGH*Xasthur*COUGH*)

Also, might as well take this here: JUST came back home from the studio where we've finished tracking the Lethal 7". Mixing and mastering tomorrow (unfortunately I can't be there, so I bet Mike and Bob are going to secretly add all sorts of synths and techno beats when I'm gone.) Anyway, it will thrash some fucking ass. After this summer, I'm probably going to be forced to leave Lethal because I'm likely moving from Umeå.

You can think it's a synth all you want, come here and I'll dial in that exact guitar sound in front of your eyes. ;)

I would if I could but I can't so I won't, synth-boy

Weird! I had a conversation with you about programming synths on IRC that one time... but I guess you were just talking about Vindsvalr. My mistake!

That sucks schlong, but didn't you just move to a sparkling new apartment? How about not changing homes every 6th month?

Ahhhh... So Nasheim is Erik and fotmbm's band? Please accept my compliment's then, as I checked out that "best of" thing after seeing it mentioned in some of the "best of 2004" lists, and I thought it was rather good.

I thought me+erik=nasheim was common knowledge around here, and me+erik+bob+emil=lethal too bla bla I'm hung over and thanks. I don't know any north american distros that will carry it but just checkl your regulars, NSP has great distribution
