One of the things that I noticed this year( was probably the same last year but didn't notice), was that most of the musicians were playing through the Marshall stacks/drum set/etc. I'm curious what it was like for the musicians to be playing through setups that aren't exactly what they have at home. It all sounded great, and very close to the CDs, but curious nonetheless.

On the Freak Kitchen Forum, Bjorn talks about playing double bass (on 2 seperate bass drums for the first time in 19 years). He's got some other info too. IA had Laneys shipped to the venue for the festival, so he was right at home as far as his sound goes.....I'll dig up the link from Bjorn and post it here...

Here's a cut and paste of Bjorn's answer to a question about using the double bass drums on the FK Forum - The link to it is below....

"Well. It was 19 years ago I did it the last time. Kind of weird but the monitorsound of the kicks was so extremely good that I couldn't but enjoy it.

I travelled very lightly so I only brought my two stax and the soprano snare unfortunately... The Sabians they got on that kit really sucked! I don't usually complain but Man, they were stiff and quiet. Very hard to work.

Hmm.. I guess I've learned a lesson. There is nothing like your own gear."
