Hey all,

Here is my problem, I can't write on any of my external USB drives. They are marked as read only under Mac OSX (they are windows NTFS formatted drives) and I apparently can't change that in Mac OSX (argh). Does anybody know how to change this to Read & Write ?

Cheers,

Brett

You have to be logged into your Mac OS X account as an administrator. If you are the only account on the OS, then you are the administrator. Then you can do Ctrl+Click or RightClick on the drive, and go to "Get Info", you should be able to change the permission to Read & Write from there, if you are in the admin account. Other than that...I think you'll have to wait for Mr. Murphy, Mr. Sneap, or Kazrog to get on and see this, because they all helped me with a similar situation a while back.

I'm pretty sure NTFS is read-only on a Mac... Heh, looks as if I was beat.

If you want to read/write on both OS you'll need FAT32
