prob another in the long line of stupid questions but when Opeth record their accoustic parts, do they use accoutic guitars with steel strings or nylon strings??

the old (and slightly broken) guitar he plays with at home is with nylons, isn't it (I can be wrong)? So if it is, it's quite possible they use it on albums for that warm and deep sound. In Serenity Painted death, just somewhere before the final electric part (the fade out) you have that sound...

Yeah it defintatly sounds like there are points where they use nylons, but in general it seems to be steel...

i can't think of an opeth song that sounds like it has nylon strings. everything sounds like a regular acoustic guitar to me.

I have a guitar with half electric string and half nylon strings. I sounds like crap and I feel insane whenever I play it. :hotjump:

Look at the equipment list. on orchid and morningrise they use nylons and steels.
