Hey guys, I'm doing some guitar tracking at home using Sonar 8/Revalver MkIII with an M-Audio FW410 as my DI/audio interface. Problem is, my signal going into the M-Audio is clipping, and I think it could be because I have active pickups. I can fix the problem by enabling the "Pad" button on the M-Audio and then adjusting the signal gain knob until I get a fairly strong signal that isn't clipping, but I fear the signal isn't as strong as it would normally be because the "pad" button cuts the signal strength by about 40% or so..

Anyone encountered a similar problem? I think my revalver tone isn't sounding as great because the clean signal going in isn't as strong as it could be.

I have the same interface, and when recording my guitar with EMG 81, I just enable the Pad setting and do what you described. Works perfectly. Don't understand you problem really.
