all my active equipped guitars internally clip before heading into the interface, thats part of the tone!!!
unless you wana go for the 18v mod to improve the headroom then theres really nothing to worry about dude!
yeah, DI or better inteface
i think loewring the volume alters the tone if im not mistaken
Get a better interface that allows you reduce the input gain.
yeah.... It's been only said like 3 times in the thread, mate. Or make that 4 now.
Sonny, looking at the waveform you have tracked it at a far too higher gain!
so i can't tell whether or not you're getting internal clipping.
You are going to have to invest in the DI route.
I'll find a snippet of a DI of mine that does the internal clipping thing
active
Seymour Duncans (not the blackouts, way older ones, forgot the name)
.
I did this and it works, but I'm losing distortion... It doesn't matter though, it fixes the problem kind of
do you own a preamp (I use a Art MP) or some kind of adjustable DI box?
Just use something like that between your guitar and the Line6 interface.
This way, you still get the "full sound" of your guitar, but don't distort the
signal in the interface.
I had the same problem with a cheap interface of a friend and my active
Seymour Duncans (not the blackouts, way older ones, forgot the name)
I just put my Art Tube Preamp before the interface and reduced the level
a bit, no clipping and it was nice to get a little tube warmth.
Turn up the gain on the amp sim.
Big LOL @ the words "active pups" in the thread title.
"Pups" means "fart" in German.
And "active fart internal clipping" is probably one of the funniest things I've ever heard
