I think it sounds workable!
Absolutely! I just threw those demos up for no other reason just to share with the forumers that I've got it all up and running and that it's working.
I spent very little time with it last night, but I can already tell that I'm pretty happy with it for the cost of the pack. I really needed a better kick sample in AD and this pack has a much better sounding kick (well at least to my ears).
I have Superior with the Metal Foundry, EZ Drummer and SSD Platinum and of course AD. I've been doing my best with S2.0 but there are aspects of the samples or program I just dislike. I was going through all my old songs/mixes, and I kept coming back to this one sample I made that I love. I used AD for it and I loved the drums sound in it. I actually was saying to myself while listening that I was wishing I could get Superior to sound like my AD kit! It just hit me, why don't I just use AD if I like the sound of it more??? Duh! I didn't even have it installed on my machine anymore.
I have had this idea that AD isn't on par with Toontrack products, maybe because it's so much smaller, and it uses a lot less system resources than Superior. You are limited with the amount of drums, but if they sound better to me, and I feel I can have better mixes with it, why not use it.
This metal pack just helps to enlarge my capabilities with AD, and from my run through with all the different presets, there's a lot of different sound capabilities just with the one kit and presets! I'm not a huge fan of the metal snare, but some might be, and you can always replace it. The reason I really like AD is for the symbols especially. I have difficulty in Superior getting my hi hats to sound realistic. They always seem to be so loud in my mixes too with Superior. I'm sure it's probably my mixing capabilities with superior. I struggle with it a lot. AD just seems easier for me to dial in what I want, and I like the way it sounds. I really love their grooves too!
