Here's a track from a demo I am working on. Want/need some advice on where to go.

I definitly think the vocals need some verb.

Any help would be appreciated.

Of The Dead Mix

This is from a Demo/preproduction for my band Cold Grave. Tracked under pretty shitty conditions (bands practicing next door, etc.) and quickly.

Thanks

Maybe just a tad of delay on the vocals to make them more fluid, but not much. The drums sound they aren't resonating at all. Could be intentional, but it wouldn't hurt to slap some verb on those. Again though, you don't need tons. Start off with as little as possible till you get a 'good' sound and not a 'reverb' sound.

Hey thanks. What kind of delay times would you usually use on a vocal?

I could definitly see adding a verb to the drums.

Well, for a basic setting, use a 5% wet mix (that means 95% without delay), delay time .5 seconds, cut back on the feedback and hipass frequency to taste. Mess around with the settings till you find something that sits well in the mix. Obviously on the vocal track alone it's going to be noticeable but during the mix you want it to enhance the vocals but not make it sound like a stomp-box effect.

Anyone else? Hopefully I'll be getting down there tonight to update/work on the mix.

Anyone think the vocals are too upfront? Besides what Spioraid already mentioned.

Any feedback is mucho aprecciated. (Even if you slam it!)
