Agalloch in Atlanta

Worm Ouroboros and Loss are support for the Atlanta show.

Holy moley!

The bass player for Loss is one of my best friends, so I plan on being at the Atlanta show. He's also the assistant director for my Dragon*Con programming. Ironically, he is going to have to skip a Dragon*Con meeting earlier in the day as a result of sound check.

Aha, this IS the band I thought it was. You coming down for this?

The one they had in Chicago sold out right away actually. They also had some vinyl and other stuff for sale. They were selling like hotcakes.

Yeah that was the shirt Fursy from Les Discrets (and visual artist/former live bassist for Alcest) designed. I missed out when they were selling the leftovers online.

While once I get all their material, I probably will like Agalloch more...the truth of it all is I'm much more familiar with Volbeat than I am with Agalloch. The only Agalloch disc I have is the new one.

Start with Pale Folklore and work your way up. This is especially the case if you like the new one because the other 2 CDs don't sound anything like Marrow and Pale Folklore. They are excellent CDs but they are more along the lines of Isis, Mastodon, etc and their style of doing things.

Atlanta folks-- any decent hotels in the area of the EARL? I've not been to that area, though I know the general area of Flat Shoals.
If nothing decent is in the area, we'll probably stay downtown and cab out.

Just a reminder...this show is Saturday, and as of presstime, I plan on being there. I'll probably be giving their bass player a rider from a Dragon*Con meeting earlier in the day (he's my assistant director).

I am just inspired by a band with the balls to call themselves Worm Ouroboros.

I never can spell that name right, and I'm too stubborn to ever look it up to double check.

I'll check out Agalloch's catalog and maybe try to go... this is a lot of positive press from some cool folks.
