Agalloch live - what were they burning?

They lit some pieces of what looked to be wood and released an amazing smell into the air. Any idea what it was?

Incense of some kind. During the set in Chicago, John said something about gathering stuff for incense when he goes out into nature, so I imagine it's incense he's made himself.

Great show, I hope they make new material again quickly. Their live show was fantastic (tho could have done without the openers). Anyone find Agalloch too loud live, though?

Yeah, it really set the mood for the show when they lit that shit. And no, the volume was perfect when I saw them.
