first and foremost... i don't know anything about different wood types ok lol... but i'm kinda starting to learn a little i hope
the body of my guitar is made of agathis... and i'm wondering what are the characteristics of this wood in terms of tone?
a lot of people bash this type of wood... although i'm not really sure why... there's never much of a reason
websites i've searched have very little (if any) information on agathis...
though one website classified agathis as alder/poplar... i'm not sure if that's accurate or not
from reading it seems that the wood of your guitar won't exactly make or break your tone... but it has its own influence somewhere in the mix... and pickups might sound different on different types of wood...
if that's the case, would anyone have an example of a good choice of pickups for an agathis body?
any thoughts? facts? opinions?
