I think the leads are too loud, the guitars could be brightened up and brought more to the front as well. I can't listen loud enough to critique the more fine details, but that's what I can tell right off the bat.
Yeah i thought the leads may have been a tad too loud... I got lazy with it though, finished doing it at about 1am and thought it'll do.
1. could be played tighter. nice proggy/djenty composition though!
2. make the guitars a bit brighter.
3. when the distored rythms come in they need to be way louder. then automate the cleans down to make them sit better in this section.
4. Change the release on the compressor so its not pumping so heavily.
is there a bass on this? I cant tell from my speaker set up...
I've got my drums with parallel compression and then i put the Waves V-Comp on the master bus, i'll try a compressor i have more control over.
As for the guitars, if there anything you can recommend for me to make them brighter? I did a Low Pass to about 7-8k i think, so that could be taken up more.
I'll end up re recording it, it was a late night thing and i was knackered haha! And there is bass there aye, the strings are dead as satan himself and yeah... I didnt automate much other than the fade-ins... XD
SO i got round to doing something quick while i had a break from doing stuff and this is what it is. not sure if it's any better but thats for you guys to decide
I removed the compressor from the master bus and then changed the Eq's and multiband compressors a bit on the guitars and automated the clean quieter, and lowered the lead.
