Has anyone heard this yet?

Pretty solid album - the mixing sounds a bit fucked though, did the band do this themselves?

I've heard about half of it. I agree that the mixing was off. I don't know whether this is due to an early leak or what, but it doesn't sound too good. Overall, what I heard is a step down from the great Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone.

Choronzon is pretty much the same so I don't know how you can say everything else sucks. YOU suck.

I downloaded this and you guys are correct - it sounds like total shite. The mix is garbage, sounds like they recorded it in a vat of mushy peas. The clean sections are fine, but the heavy parts are just a mess.

I hope, like you, it's just an early mix, but I hoped "St Anger"s drum sound was only an early mix thing and look what happened with that crap.

I don't know about the new one, but Choronzon was a complete abomination. Just a mishmash of silly/dsigusting ideas I once mistook for inventiveness. My fascination with it evaporated really fast.

All of their pre WtgUDtgU albums are completely horrible, I've not heard WtgUDtgU yet, but Antichrist is pretty fucking awful too.

Yeah, Choronzon is much worse, than Words... There was only one real good track (Leviathan) on there. I was glad that they dropped most of the real techy stuff for more proggy parts, but it seems they've regressed on the newest.

It sounds like maybe an unmastered promo was leaked...? Notice how each song just stops and doesn't flow into the next track.

Great album though. I favour their more progressive side over their heavier stuff.

Akercocke is great. I love their sense of humour. Their band image is great as well, the whole suit-wearng, intelligent, well-mannered and cunting arrogance.
