Okay!

So here is the project. Local band recorded in a piece of shit studio. Had horrible live drums, no DI's, and they hired me to master it/mix it. I didn't get to salvage much. The line 6 tone they used was unbearable but I did the best I could, did some oversampling, lots of eq, anyway, I don't want to bore you with specs. This is my second album i've ever done so...be kind! Constructive criticism is needed here.

What's up with the hi-hat? It's so much louder than the other cymbals...

Guitars could come up quite a bit!

well im not near my studio setup but im listening with a pretty good pair of headphones and im hearing very little low end dynamics in the track - it sounds like you threw a hi-pass over the entire track? the kick is pumping some bass but the actual bass guitars low end thump is no where to be heard from what im hearing and its overly loud in some parts - have you compressed the bass track?

and finally it sounds very dead in the centre of the track

really too loud ride, no bassguitar at all, overall mix is too compressed and flat, general lack of mids and lower mids, too much room on vocals. Kick is nice and snare is ok.
