I didn't even bother with this, because I had a feeling this would happen. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to have these, err... 'competitions' (for want of a better word, I know they're not meant to be competitive but that's just how they turn out, whichever way you slice it) but they do generally end up being a huge disappointment. I know nobody is to blame here so I'm not trying to point any fingers, I'm just saying. Either the band loses its budget, or they choose someone who isn't from the forum who they could have just chosen in the first place, or something else generally disappointing happens, and it's a pain in the arse for those who have worked hard on the mix, grasping at the chance to get the job. I haven't been here long, only a couple of years, but I've never seen a single one of these turn into a success for anyone who actually posts here. Sorry to bring down the mood, but work is getting harder and harder to find, so this proverbial 'dangling of the carrot' is a little unfair I think. Maybe there needs to be some regulations in place if people are going to do these in the future? Again, no hard feelings, I just know a lot of people will be disappointed.
