All Age Gigs

Hey guys,
Got an All Age gig planned at Valve in August.
What's the best places to get bang for buck promotion?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hmmmm with all ages i'm not entirely sure as 99% of our gigs have been over 18's only.
There is of course the Drum Media magazine which has great distribution and also contains a youth column in it for details on all ages events.
Other than that i'd say posters in and around local schools and sports fields, shop windows of youth interested businesses such as skateboards and computer games as well as posting all over the net will probably attract them as it appears the youth of today live online. Although in saying that i don't quite know what my excuse is.

I'd consider hitting up PCYCs as well as what Dave mentioned. Kids still attend a lot of the usual places that over 18s attend, and you would still want over 18s at the gig, right? So good record stores, as well as unis and tafes would be a good place to put flyers up. Most of them you're going to have to go to in person because they'll just bin whatever you mail them...
