Heh, just occurred to me that limbs being sawed off was an element of three different best picture nominees this year.

I think it was wonderfully acted, scripted, directed and the sets were wonderful. I think the emotional journey at the core of the story was moving and Firth was excellent.

I think what alot of people found less good about the movie is that it isn't really anything in which something unexpected happens. You'll pretty much know what's going to happen from the start. But as you said, everything else is ace. I did thoroughly enjoy it, and I'm not even a scummy scot

Black Swan was one of the best movies I've seem EVER. It actually surprised me.. and that's been hard to do in the last few years, because all movies have to be spelled out, dumbed down, and retardefied. Beautiful movie, and I also agree it should have won.
