No Care Ever
I josh found out about this from Mr Josh Wickman this weekened, and saw nothing on the forum about it, so i figured i'd post something to let anyone else who hasn't heard yet.

I picked up the Gold bundle and CLA Classic Compressors from sweetwater this weekend(way cheaper than the Waves online store), then got the SSL 4000 Collection tonight.

I'm going to go ahead and ask. Are Waves really better than any other plugins? I've demo'd them, and I honestly didn't find anything special that couldn't be done with my Reaper and 20 other plugins I downloaded.

There are a few companies that do quality plugins.

UAD, Softube, Mcdsp and Waves to name a few.

Waves classic compressor is a win, and their SSL bundle. The rest is good but the large bundles i would say is about 95% crap, not that they aren't good but I for sure don't use them.

Then add a multiband comp (waves c4 or Mcdsp mc3000) and you have about all the plugins i use when i mix.

Also you should know that Guitar Center "guarantees lowest price", so if you "find" a price that is lower, they sell it for you at that price and even deduct 10% off.

"You're guaranteed the lowest price from Guitar Center. Period. If at any time within 30 days of your purchase from us, you find the identical item in stock and advertised by any other authorized dealer at a price lower than what you paid, Guitar Center will fully protect you. Just bring in that dealer's ad, along with your original Guitar Center receipt, and we'll gladly refund you 100% of the difference, plus another 10% of that difference. We will also do the same for you at the time of purchase. We will match our own lower price if we advertise it for less than you paid within 30 days of your purchase. "

Just a comparison on Platinum Bundle: Guitar Center $2080, Sweetwater $1170

1170 * 0.9 = 1053

Don't GC add tax on top though?

If people are looking for quality plugins on a budget, I highly recommend these guys:

http://www.crysonic.com/

They have a bit of a rep on KVR forums but ignore that. It's about supposed customer service than anything else.

I actually owned about 70% of the bundle from buying singles over the past year. So I went and bought the bundle anyway because I was so impressed. So I have more than one licence for most of my plugs, hehe.

It shits all over my Tracks, Nomad etc plugins.

The only downside are stupid names are confusing GUIs.
