What do you know I managed to download it too

In a nutshell it goes exactly were the debut left. So if you like the debut you'll enjoy this one.

I'm among the first to complaint that I expected more from these two giants and that the debut failed in filling all those expectations. But now knowing what the game is about, I feel confortable with the sophomore album and I will acquire it as soon as it's available.

And of course recommended for fans of melodic metal and good vocals ;)

NP: Arjen Anthony Lucassen - 'Wrong Side Of The Street'

The latest Allen/Lande is BETTER than the debut IMO. Same style,
but a little more fire on the guitar side of things....0
"Must buy" for me as well...

Hey Wyvern,
What album is this song found on? I have all of Ayreon's stuff and this doesn't ring a bell. Did Arjen release a solo record?

(ps....great news on "The Revenge"...another "must buy" in 2007!)

Forget about getting that one outside the net or e-Bay is OOP. Was his first album once he left Vengeance and Bodine. I was lucky to download it some time ago. More info here:

No need to download this one as it'll be in stores in a few weeks time anyway. I have total trust on Karlsson and the singers after Battle, a definite blind buy...

You can bet on that. I still like to check in advance "just in case" but it's on my acquire soon list indeed.

Karlsson is a very talented musician and I'd like him to write another Starbreaker record with Tony Harnell, my favorite work of his.

Allen/Lande is a cool project too, but his guitar playing is more upfront in Starbreaker.

Yeah, The Revenge is out now and it's every bit as good as the first album. There's absolutely nothing new here, just good catchy songs and two great voices. Now don't kill me for this, but music like this is what I call "easy listening metal" and that is in no way a derogatory term. In fact there should be more bands/projects bands like this, whose albums you can put in the cd player and just rock out for an hour. After all, anyone can write a complex riff but it takes real talent write a catchy riff!:headbang:

Totally agree with you. It's a good term and describe nicely the music. I even took it to the gym and it's very good for low impact workout :D

"Easy listening Metal" HA! I like that.
I still never got around to buying the first one. Which one should I get first? Opinions?

The debut is more solid IMO or " less easy" listening :p (love the term)

NP: Dream Theater - 'The Ministry Of Lost Souls'

Brilliant and very enjoyable album. I purchased it some days ago and I am listening to it without stop from yesterday.

I agree with tsorl for the term "easy listening metal" and for the talent needed to write catcy and memorable melodies. This album has plenty of them.
