allmusic.com Article on Metal in 2006

could someone explain to me what is so appealing about "the drift"? all i hear is minimalistic sounds with an annoying semi-operatic voice behind it.

The Drift slays, it is a bit of a masochist listen lol...but the ''blocks of sound''(as Scott describes the arrangements) are very well-executed, every song is the equivalent of a little thriller movie, what a great twisted journey it is, it takes you over completely, really love that album...but metal? fuck no
Thumbs up to MORT, not as good as twwtg, but still amazing
