Guys,
I've been working on this alt rock band - this one I didn't do on the place I work on, but mostly at home. I am kinda satisfied with the mix itself, but I am hearing some muddyness and I just can't take it off with EQ. The room I am working in is untreated and my home monitors are KRK Rokits 8, so that isn't helping me at all.
Anyway, everything was recorded through my Fireface preamps. Guitars are a Ibanez 'lawsuit' Telecaster -> countryman type 85 DI ->Lecto -> Ryan impulses, and also a Fender Jazzmaster into the same gear. The singer, a buddy of mine, is a REALLY bad singer, so expect loads of melodyne and some not so smooth sounding vocals. Drums are mostly real, except the snare, which is a Pearl Chad Smith Snare and a bunch of Slate and Lasse samples (Snare 6 on both, IIRC), and that Paramore snare someone here sampled.
HERE is the file.
Cheers
Ivan
