Ok as Saxon are not doing a St Georges Day bash this year.A few of us have got together and arranged our own, on fri 23rd April at The Greenman Hotel Wembley(my daughters pub)http://www.thegreenmanhotelatwembley.co.uk/ So far we have one band booked and metal Karaoke(hoping for another band)I can promise you lots of Saxon (prob a gig on the big screen too)and a rockin good day and night. We can kick off procedings whenever we want.Obviously we would like to get as many forumers as possible to come,to make it a blinding day.The pub is also a hotel so if anyone wants to stay over i can arrange a discount for forum members, or there are other hotels in the area (travellodge).More details to come as things progress.
.

Dear All,

Things are moving at pace on this little extravaganza (Thanks to MidnightRider, Saxon1963 & Saxonized).

Can people please confirm their interest in joining us on this occasion, the people I know for definite are listed below.

Fingers
Midnight Rider
Saxon1963
Saxonized
Paxoman
Mandy
Goss

Please also be aware there may be a cost implication for the gig, however this will not be excessive and we aim to keep it less than a standard gig ticket which tends to be around the £20 mark.

Any monies made over and above the costs of bands/pa etc. will go to a nominated charity. Which we will confirm when more information is available.

Please leacve yoiur name below if you are up for this event.

Cheers

I'm guessing the green man is the hotel on route to wembley with the bloody big car park?

I'd want accommodation too, certainly for the Friday and if it wasn't made clear from the first line... somewhere to park the car.

Cheers Muchly.

That's the place mate - I'm sure there will be room at the inn - as for car parking I asume it be will be ok?

Am I right Mr. Midnight?

After checking the Green Man Website... looks like no available accomodation.

Looks like a cheapie do at the Kensington Crown Plaza at a most reasonable £222.50 per night. I guess I'll catch you all therel.:err:

Or you could, like me stay at the holiday inn LONDON-ELSTREE M25, JCT.23 at the price of £25.50 with parking.

Let me know if there is a demand for it. You would be booking for two days at a cost of £51. (No breakfast, price £51 if you stay for only 1 day)

+ cost of taxi to and from venue. 7 Miles from green man.

(sooner we get this one sorted the better)

Just throwing this out as an alternative

So.... just out of interest, who's making a weekend of it?

Dear All,

First of all the four of us organising this shindig are happy to confirm that that all announcements for this gig will be posted here first not on the Saxon myspace page

Well we are nearly there, the line up is coming together. We can now confirm that "METAL ED" will not be alone on the day!

We have three Bands that will be confirmed on Monday 1st March around 9am, a lot of work has gone on to secure these bands and we are sure you won't be disappointed.

Ticketing - Just to confirm all proceeds from this event are going to be donated to http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk
With that in mind we have decided to set the ticket pricing as follows:

Advance Tickets - £8

Hi All,

Complimenting the excellent work that is currently taking place to make this event special for us all, we would now like to announce that on the day, we will be running a raffle, again with all proceeds going to our chosen charity for the event.

We would also like to thank "our band" for the generous support that they are giving to us, and we have been in contact regarding various ideas of prizes that we feel any "Rock" fan would wish to win.

With this in mind, we intend to offer up "Big" Teasers from this point, right up to the big day itself concerning the prizes that you will be paying your hard earned money for.

The first being :

A Saxon "Experience" - namely two tickets to any show on the next UK tour, with the added of being invited in to the pre-show "soundcheck" as well. We believe that any fan, not just that of the Forum, but of anyone in attendance who takes pleasure in our music, would be happy to win this.

Hope to see as many of you at the event, please now try your best to sell as many tickets to the event as you can, its all in aid of charity as you know.

Thanks

Martin,Pete,Graham and Fingers ( and Saxon )

Fury UK are playing The Purple Turtle in Camden on Tues 30th March.Myself and Fingers will be there to check them out and hand out flyers for The St Georges Day Bash, and will also have some tickets on hand to sell.:kickass:

In keeping with my previous message, thought i would message to let you know of a couple of further goodies that we have managed to acquire for our Metal based raffle.

Both again will be welcome additions to any Saxon fan collection, and i can confirm that we have been promised special prizes by both Mr Glockler ( "it's a surprise is all he will say" ) and Mr Scarrett. The actual make up of these will be known on the day.

Thanks go out to both our band members for their support for the raffle, we now just need sell as many tickets as possible.

Thanks and further updates will follow.

Cheers

Martin,Pete,Graham and The Vice Chairman
