I've heard a little bit of bad comments about their mixers, but don't know about the preamp.

Well I've tried some efx rev/delay in a live situation (foh) and they really suck!!
But the headphones preamps are pretty good and cheap and not noisy (hiss & stuff) at all!
This unit got some good reviews in a few mag's, but you'll never know?!...
