Seriously.. everyone here seems either to be already in a band, forming a band, writting and recording songs for a band or currently off touring the world with a band!

Come on, there must be someone else out there who has no direct involvement with the music industry other than as a avid consumer. (Preferably in the Melbourne / Geelong area ;) )

Air guitar does not count. If it did, I would be extremely famous!

:D

Unless you count a two week stint in a mates garage that ended when we had to go back to school, as well as the fact that we never, ever got all the way through a song, then I've never been in a band.

And I'm in the Melbourne area!

I qualify on both counts! What do I win, what do I win?

2 chords? You only need to know 3 for a song Kem, thats perilously close to being a musician young lady..........

I regularly play 4 or 5 nights a week in my bedroom, the gigs go off and I always get really good reviews, im kinda a cult (very)underground thing at the moment though, you may not have heard of me, i think my brother may have accidentally heard me playing once, so things are really starting to happen for me, I promise not to forget you all! :)

I used to be in the Silkstone State School boy's choir, and we won the Ipswich Junior Eisteddford (sp?) in 1987, I believe it was, although I may be wrong. We sang two songs from "Oliver!", and destroyed the opposition.

That's the closest I've ever been to being in a band, although if anyone needs a recorder player let me know, because it's the only instrument I can play with any competency (although I'm adequate on the triangle as well!).

Hahahaha spawn, ur a crack up! HAHAH! I'll make sure I look out for you! I'm sure when you're friends hear you, you'll really hit the big time!

Kem: yep, 1 more chord and you can play WASP and AC/DC songs!!!!! :D

I am sort of in a band. Well I was, we started as thrash metal. Then the other guys thought "wait on, SLipknot rule! Lets play hardcore crap". So I lost interest and have been inactive with them for over a year since they play the music I despise, but officially we are still going and i'm still a member hahaha.

But I've written some glammy 80s heavy metal stuff which isn't bad :) I'm gonna record some on the computer and look for other people interested in it who wanna start a band with me hehe. And its very cheesy, sleazy 80s metal! Eg. one of my song names is Puss In Boots :D hahaha! I think you can guess what that is about :)

Thanks Troops, I really think after my brother may have heard me, he might tell my mom, maybe my dad too, its all about word of mouth. This could be my big break, im really gonna make it this time, i can just feel it :)

I wanna hear the glam stuff troops! You have to go RIGHT over the top though :)
(Puss in boots is about the fairytale/childrens book right????) :)

I wouldn't worry too much Sydo. Ive spent so much money on equipment. I end up spending at least 2 hours packing/setting up and never really get to socialise. We travel for an hour each way. We play for 4 hours and hardly get a cent.

Then we have to write and learn new songs and practice practice practice.

Maybe it gets easier when your a bigger band?

I love the sound of that!! The world needs more sleazy cheese.
I've been singing a lot to my monkeys lately, they think I'm cool. :D

Those are some of the greatest songs! 95 NASTY.

Sydo I'm not in a band ,never have been , just an avid consumer of loud abrasive music.

Although I must confess of getting really pissed at a footy presentation and getting on stage with the "One man band" I booked as Treasuer of the Footy Club and singing Smoke On THe Water on lead tamborine. It must have been really bad as know one the next day , week, year ever mentioned it- even my wife.

maybe it was really good??????

I'm basically on par with phloggy, although I can kind of play my bass, umm err, yeah when I practice which aint much lately.

and yes WASP rule, especially their earlier stuff... on your knees.. :)
