Before taking the stage this past Sunday (July 8) at New York City's B.B. King Blues Club & Grill stop of the Summer Slughter tour, vocalist Covan of Polish extreme metallers DECAPITATED reportedly told fans that his band will hit the road as direct support to AMON AMARTH on the Swedish group's first U.S. headlining tour this November.

Oh hell yes, I heard something about this about a month ago but I wasn't sure if it was true...I missed Decapitated at Summer Slaughter because I was watching Daath and I've never seen Amon Amarth. This show will be awesome.

It would be ridiculously easy to name bands for an all-Tolkien metal tour. Amon Amarth, Cirith Ungol, Ephel Duath, Morgoth..... Marillion....(well, maybe not on THAT tour)..... And that's just for starters.

True...I was thinking just of bands whose names come from Tolkien, but if you expand it to bands who reference Middle Earth in lyrics or song/album titles like Summoning does, we'd be knee-deep in elves* carrying guitars!

This is very good news! I was quite upset at missing Decapitated (and the entire Summer Slaughter, of course) since I've been spinning Nihility lately, but with such intense vikings on top? Looks like an amazing show.

Just saw Amon Amarth in Germany and I'm going to see them again Saturday night in NJ. Fun band and really very talented underneath the whole Viking-schtick. But what's not to like about Vikings? Ben and I wanted drinking horns like Johan's. Too bad we never found any in Europe.
