Just saw Amon Amarth in Germany and I'm going to see them again Saturday night in NJ. Fun band and really very talented underneath the whole Viking-schtick. But what's not to like about Vikings? Ben and I wanted drinking horns like Johan's. Too bad we never found any in Europe.

its a 5 hour drive for me... so often that is the closest i get and sometimes I have had those missed.

According to Amon Amarth's website they are supporting Dimmu Borgir in Europe in the fall. I would love to see 'em though! Especially headlining!

Simple, but good-looking drinking horns can be had at any 'decent' RennFaire, and they're not all that expensive, either. I'd have happily picked one up for you at the Georgia Faire if I'd known.

I had a buddy of mine pick it up when he saw them in Portland with Agalloch a year or so back....

Yeah, he's quite lucky-- he lives in WA and I know he's seen them at least 3 times. I left Seattle in 2001, so I never had the opportunity to them there-- but I did go to the Day of the Equinox fest in Toronto a couple years back-- and they were pretty amazing-- they even threw their "Kneel to the Cross" cover into the set....
