amon amarth US HEADLINING TOUR!!!!

Not too many good venues left in Boston. All the downtown ones suck, the only one in the area that I like is Good Times, and that's really more of a local band venue then a touring act, even if it is better then most of the places that do book national acts. One of the few small places with a good sound guy. I know some shows would hit Axis/Avalon, but the 'No Smoking and No Re-Admittance" policy there really blows. Shit, I'm not sure what else is even open any more back there. Palladium isn't bad, and at least it's not hours away.

Good Times – LOL! Ghetto Times. I used to live right up the street from there in Wellington Circle (my parents still do). But that isn’t a bad place to play; just a bad place to play video games!

Axis/Avalon are nice clubs (did you know Axis/Avalon are gone next year and they’re building one gigantic venue) and I bet AA would do well at Axis but metal shows rarely come to Boston. Mark’s Showplace in NH, a lame strip club/rock club, has been getting tons of metal shows recently. I’m seeing Enslaved there in November and I saw Dark Funeral there a few months back. AA always play the Palladium and their sound always sucks there.

Boston was great in the mid 80’s to mid 90’s with places like The Rat and Bunnrattys but those are gone. The Middle East still occasionally has a show (but it’s rumored that venue is going bye bye as well).

I’m just being a baby cause I hate driving to Worchester. The problem is with cities like Boston (and NYC) a lot of people don’t have cars so they don’t really leave the city for shows.

I like Mark's. Sure, it's kinda lame... but combine a metal show with boobies, and I'm a happy man. AA should book a show there. Plus it's only like 20 minutes from my parent's farm. :) Since I smoke, I really don't like anywhere in Boston now. I can go without smoking, but not if I'm drinking. And a show with no drinking isn't that fun. :(
I actually grew up down by Plymouth, so I've always had some kind of transportation; Worcester, Boston, Providence, it was all about the same to get to for me.

The sound at Mark's is fine; I just don't like the set up there with those pool tables in the back. BTW NH has passed a smoking ban, it starts in September. I'm happy because when I go to see Enslaved in November my clothes (hopefully) won't smell like cigarettes.

WTF happened to the Toronto date? It's no longer listed anywhere? But was the first date released. There had better not have been some sort of FU.

AA will have a show every night from november 23rd to december 3rd...that's a lot of shows in a row !!!

where do u see NY date with Saturday?

it's Orlando (probably), Seattle(for sure) and Vancouver (maybe) for me, they better play some old shit, at least 3 songs from OSFTGH and 2 from all the others, that would be killer

the only sucky part is that it will be difficult to have a few with the guys as they typically don't drink (much) before the set, too proffesional ;)
