Okay, we'll end a pointless discussion with a poll!
Vote: Sentenced or Amorphis

Sentenced that is for me!

Anyways, Sentenced will win because far fewer people have heared Amorphis, plus Sentenced have an easier sound to get along with.... Poor excuses you'll say but it's the truth! Me vote for Amorphis.

well, i knew Amorphis first!
and if i'm right they're more succesful in Finland then Sentenced. Same thing over here... Amorphis is more popular

Same here, my vote is for amorphis! Sentenced's songs are by far more catchy and ''easy-listening'' than Amorphis...also i found their attitude a bit boring and their lyrics instead of making me cry, some times they made me laugh...way too exaggerated! On the other hand amorphis are more ''special'' (music & lyrics). Although i admit that sentenced have written some really great songs! ( Jarva era)

Riffs of Sentenced are more keen then Amorphis... Amorphis needs way much more lead guitar and special effects to keep their music interesting...

No offense but Sentenced seem to really like Metallica.... Anyways, Amok and Down are very good but after that it just seems all the same to my ears. Amorphis have a classic also (Tales...). Dunno.....it's music, some things you like more than others......

amorphis have always released incredible albums (except - for me, of course- their very first EP "the priviledge of evil" and "karelean isthmus): the tales album, elegy, tounela, etc...

but i love sentenced more...all just a matter of taste.

I'm not into Sentenced, so the choice is way easy for me. Amorphis! They have some really good stuff. I started with Tales and never mind the albums before. Tuonela is great, the album and the song. Though i must admit the haven't wrote one complete good album, there were always a few songs i didn't like that much.

Anyway, for me it's Amorphis.

I think we all decide whether we like the music/or specifically a band or not through our perceptions and past experiences..well Sentenced reminds me very nice things, nice memories related to them.So I voted for Sentenced, coz they are kinda special for me.

Sentenced: Release two great albums, North from Here and Amok, then turn into boring and mediocre goth rock.

Amorphis: Three great albums in a death metal vein, Karelian Isthmus, Tales, and Elegy. Unlike Sentenced, Amorphis retain the ability to write genuinely interesting songs.

Sentenced is far more popular than Amorphis in Finland for the record.

But it's not that ville who is responsible for the music... Sami (lead guitar) writes most stuff , so better not relate it to HIM And they aren't posers as well

i've heard the album with killing you killing me in,cant recall the titre...but it reminded me of HIM,big time!and they are both from finland
