and you know they came up with categories as "noisecore" and "grindcore" for napalm and cannibal, respectively.

Fucks sake guys!!! Forget all them tags... progressive, death, grindcore... That's what fucked some bands. They always want to sound a bit of everything so that all those mags can write about how they can combine all these different influences and how talented they must be for doing that, bla bla bla... Most bands that I know and do that are crap (and I'm not talking 'bout Opeth...)

it's important to label bands
if someone says Morbid Angel is a good band and I asks what they sound like, then I want a brief description from it, so I know I (don't) have to check 'em out

Yes. Just don't get obssesed with it !!! I know people who wouldn't listen to bands they later loved cos some guy told them "they play like this and like that..." That's how I mean it... Of course there's a difference between lets say Darkthrone and Rush but I for one love both bands no matter how totaly different they sound...
