Did you ever check this pedal?
It's promising, even though these youtube clips are not the best ones, I think is not bad at all
It's made by amp guru and designer James Brown, the one that made the design for the 5150 and JSX





I'm gonna sell some old pedals and buy this

Also check out the tight rock pedal. Supposedly even better for metal than the tightmetal unless you like scooped mids (which i personally do not... at all). Plus it has a couple of badly missing extra features.

Just heard about those watching an "see my amprig" video by Mark from Misery Index.

Are those just distortions to be used in front of an amp, or can they be used as preamps (like the AMT pedals seem to do) ?

I can't try it over here, I gotta ask that guy "killertonetexas" on youtube what's his impressions, that guy has killer tones really so he knows his shit.
It seems the tight metal got that kinda fortin/marshall kinda distortion
