Andy, Plugins used on Matt Heafy's Ascendancy Performance :p

ok I dont get them at all - I don't mind the new wave new wave new wave of metal but even a britney fan can see that they are a shite metallica cover band. Roadrunner have a lot to answer for in my opinion - they have some great true original artists like machine head fear factory and sometimes slipknot (who are probably one of the most premeditated acts of all time behind kiss) but RR have fast become the sony of the metal world - wrap it - pack it - fook it - next!

Eh, whatever, I think that's a good performance. This song definitely has a Metallica vibe to it, but that's completely different than anything on "Ascendancy."

Good band with some undeserved bashing IMO.

Did you have to use the Talent Meister deluxe V1.09? :heh:

In all seriousness, he can't sing can he ???

I think that you have to cut someone some slack if they're playing an instrument at the same time. Coming from experience, it's not the easiest thing to do. However, if someone is just a singer, they had better be dead on all the time.

slightly o/t, but does anyone else use melodyne? we just started using it at the studio, and it makes auto tune look and sound like a cheap toy! you can tune lead and harmonies on the same page, and check them in real time against the mix,

I think the bashing is a bit overdone, too - there are much worse bands than Trivium, it's a hell of a lot better that disillusioned middle schoolers are going there and not Good Charlotte or My Chemical Romance. Not great, but they seem to be a 'least worst of' when it comes to what's getting through to the mainstream, and some of the rhythms at least are somewhat amusing, if less than imaginative.

I want to hear what they sound like when Heafy pulls his own vocal style together and isn't going between imitating others and generic screaming. If he gets there sometime soon and starts to sound really good at it, maybe they'll get somewhere, but until then...

i have melodyne but dont really dig it, i actually quite like tune by waves, similar but seems to run better

ace!
cheers andy!
yeah the sync can be a bit gay, but it still kicks autotune arse for me! i would like to try tune!

I love the handling in Melodyne but I also wish that the sync was more comfortable. All this switching back and forth is kinda confusing. Especially if you want to run it on more than one track ... gonna check out Waves Tune now.

:heh: Yeah, 1992 was a great year. Fear Factory, Machine Head, Vulgar Display Of Power came out that year. Everything ruled! Everything was original. Too much stuff coming out now is just boring. Fuck this safe lame boring shit! Too many lame fuckin riffs. Fucking lead harmony runs from different bands are sounding the fucking same! So fucking predictible! I just discovered Sicketh, so at least someone's ripping some ass!
