ANDY quick AE question

I was just curious....the new Arch Enemy album that you produced, Do you remember the tunings that Michael Amott uses? I assume he tunes to Drop C or even C standard......is there any C,G,C,G,C,E going on as well? ....thanks

AFAIK, 99% of what AE has done is in standard C (C F Bb Eb G C), aside from some covers (Incarnated Solvent Abuse, Symphony of Destruction, etc).

I thought they tuned to B on the earlier albums.

there was a couple of 7 string songs on Anthems, but Mike actually commented they wernt going there on this album

Yeah...the earlier stuff from AE was in B tuning just like Carcass. The newer music(Doomsday Machine) sounds like drop C because in standard C tuning it would be impossible to play those riffs so quickly. The tuning that I suggested to Andy C,G,C,G C,E would be a possibility also because I played along to a few of the opening tracks and they seemed to flow even better than drop C...especially track 9. Just figured I'd ask the source.
