NEW ANGRA ALBUM ON THE WAY

After almost two years of touring and more than 100 concerts altogether, the Rebirth World Tour ended with the release of the “Rebirth World Tour Live In São Paulo” live CD and DVD. In the middle of 2003, Angra played a few festivals such as Sweden Rock, Viña Rock (Spain), Gods Of Metal (Italy) and Pop Rock (the biggest Brazilian rock festival) before resting for a few moths.

After a quick break, the songwriting process for the next album started. But it was on early December, when producer Dennis Ward (working with Angra since the Rebirth album) arrived in Brazil, that the real marathon began. It was pre production time! From all the many compositions written, only the best ones were chosen to be eventually produced. After this selection, the band rehearsed non-stop many hours a day to get ready for the recordings.

In order to have a more comfortable atmosphere, the band decided to record the album almost entirely in its own country, Brazil. Only part of the vocals and the keyboards will be recorded in Germany, where the mixing shall also be held. So, after the Seasons Holidays, they got into the studio and worked for almost two months, ten hours a day with no rest, making use of some different ideas to improve the studio process, such as recording the bass lines after all the rhythm guitars. A quick break was taken because Dennis would have to return to Europe due to a tour with his own band “Pink Cream 69”. That would start by the beggining of march.

Just as much as its predecessor, Rebirth, the new album is a conceptual one. It tells a very interesting history developed by guitar player Rafael Bittencourt. The writing is extremely well done and the lyrics of each song are tightly connected to the others. Besides that, Angra saved a few surprises for their fans: special guests will be on this album, such as the brazilian musician Milton Nascimento, Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Douglas Las Casas, Silvia Goes and others.

This album’s quality is easily noticed and the emotions are easily understood. To be out in the middle of this year, the album will be certainly one the greatest releases of 2004! What can be said about this record? Sophisticated, surprising, innovative and the most important thing: it will be Angra’s heaviest album ever!

Stay tuned!!!

Perhaps roll his eyes at silly questions?

When I wrote "guitars? vocals? both?" - it was in reference to the TWO PEOPLE mentioned, you know KAI HANSEN AS WELL?

please...

Please what? If you comprehend English, you'd understand that I was simply asking whether Hansi AND Kai were contributing either guitars, or vocals, or both. Not that each of them was contributing more than vocals.

So just admit you didn't bother trying to understand and go about your merry way.

Hansi's bass playing is definetly good in Batallions of Fear, especially on Gandalf's Rebirth. If they were to have him playing bass on the album, I wouldn't be surprised.

No, it doesnt make any sense. Felipe is a much better bassist and hansi's bass playing wouldn't add a thing to the album...
