ANNOYING PROBLEM REAPER NOT SAVING VSTs

Lately Reaper will only save certain VSTs in my fx chains.

Hmmm it sounds like to me what i could do instead of a hard reinstallation is just install the 32-bit version? Seems to me the problem is likely that the plugins that are crashing aren't supported by the 64-bit version.

did you ever get this sorted out man? Having the same exact problem. driving me mad lol

Ditch the random freebies, only run trusted company vsts or really, really well known and simple vst. I have ONLY had problems with reaper when using unstable plugins which btw I thought were stable. Things like free synths and so on.
