Let me put a real example of "Internet Revolution": "15-m" or current Spanish (European and worldwide, too) Protest. A lot of people have been protesting/camping as a peaceful protest for almost a month. This was because of the internet as the media is severely controlled. Even my facebook/tweeter contacts who never post politics, are becoming more and more conscious, infuriated and indignant.
We're not talking about putting down the system or anything like that. We just ask for what is written on our constitution by peaceful, democratic ways.
And lots of little things have been achieved: Everybody is talking about this here, even on TV. It's slowly becoming bigger and bigger. Politicians are discussing our points of view as some of them agree with us.
Iceland is kicking bank ejecutives and politicians down to trials for putting in risk their country thanks to referendum and people. Greece is thinking about referendum to approve their second economic "rescue" because of the massive protest these days.
No one would have said so a month ago.

Oh absolutely it's way too easy to say that as I have a job and free time/money. Obviously that's not a solution at all to the problems you're talking about, but regardless of income it's still more effective/useful to go out and help real people then to post on the internet.

I was half way through the first video before I figured out it was not a preview for a new movie. I think I will just sit out the world wide revolution and watch the made for TV movie afterward.

I have volunteered for a charity that helps relocate refugees from crappy countries to the United States before. I have also taken part in fund raising for local humane societies to raise money for taking care of stray cats and dogs.

With you 100% on both points but as people have pointed out here the situation is becoming increasingly unbearable in many places. I hate to predict things (cause I am personally a horrible pessimist) but considering what has been going on this year in the Arab world, I think I see a distinct pattern emerging.
The video itself is pretty much irrelevant, but it's good to know there's a legion of script kiddies willing to go the rugged mile to stop the wanton erosion of rights and freedoms.
