Hows the tone? I think im getting better at it. I now have 2 tones that im blending together for this clip.....1 with more low and less high and one with less high and more low.

The drums are slate samples for kick and snare....havent gotten by 3.0 to work yet:(

5150 is the combo single mic'ed on axsis, just off the center on the cone.

The synth in the opening is just some preset from Halion1 in cubase. Kinda like it.

I rekon that sounds pretty nice man. I think youll have much more to play with if you were to have two mics for each track.
And did you mean for the second tone to have more high and less low? :p

This guitar sound is incredible. It captures that growl that 5150's are known for so well, and sounds enormous.

I agree the other elements bring down the mix a little but it's still a great job.

You're making me want to trade my TSL for a 5150 even more now

Its quad tracked and layered like this.
The gain is rediculously low, but i added alittle with the TS9

This is NOT in o'clocks
Rythm tone is Lead channel----2 takes
Gain-2.5 (OD boost TS9)
Low- 7
Mid- 2.5
High- 5.1
Res- 10
Pres- 5.1
Post gain at 4---loud as fuck!

Lead---Lead channel---------2 takes
Gain-2.5 (TS9 as well)
Low-6
Mid-1
High-7
Res-8
Post gain at 4
Pres-8

Guitar sounds mean, but a bit muffled - could use a little less lows/little more presence I'd say (I'm inclined to say less lows though), but otherwise awesome!

And as for the rest of the mix, I don't think it's that bad; the bass has a bit too much lower mids (between 200-300 I'd say) that mud things up a bit, and the hi-hat sounds hideously cheesy in a drum machine way; I don't mind the kick though (or snare) though. Also, the guitars are a bit too loud IMO.

that 5150 sounds awesome!!

i'd almost lost faith in 6505/5150's ability to come out well in recordings! it sounds really good!

as for the rest of the mix, yea, the drums need sorting out, the kick is nice, snare is ok, but toms are no where to be heard.

awesome job!
thanks,
