Another Atlanta question

Between the vendors that are going to be there, every disc you could possibly want is going to be available for purchase at the show for much cheaper than anywhere else.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Vendor tables are evil money sucking vampires. But I sure do love em.

I love 'em, as well, but you've got to read those labels...I almost purchased a couple of PAL DVDs last year!

Speaking of which, does anybody have an all-region DVD player they would highly recommend?

Thank God for the vendors, Atlanta is actually a piss poor place to buy metal cds. There is no specialty shop or any such thing here, the best you get is probably Tower Records.

For the dude in San Francisco -- would that be Amoeba Records? Great shop for metal!!! I nearly crapped my pants in there. Almost as big as a grociery store.

As for the guy wanting info on DVD players, I got an awesome machine from CODEFREEDVD.com. For about $120 shipped, I got a machine that will play any region DVD, PAL/NTSC, anti-copying encoded discs, etc. What you'll find is that you actually get many more features for LESS that what you'd pay for a standard model at your local electronic store, because they are not allowed to sell these machines in the big chain stores, thus no advertising costs to drive up the prices. Mine is a "Daewoo". Works just fine, don't waste teice the cash on an expensive name brand that won't even work for you.

Actually I've only been to Ameoba once. The place I go to is Rasputin Music. The selection is pretty good and it's in a perfect location(if I dont find what I want I just walk 1 block to Virgin Megastore) right in the heart of downtown San Francisco. But I actually buy most of my cd's from metaldisc.com.

Thanks for the tip! I've actually read some good things about the Daewoo machines on the internet, and the price is certainly better than I had hoped...

Rasputins ROCKS! I only went to the one in Campbell when I live out there, but that place was heaven to me. Hell of a prog metal section..metal section and half the store as a used section? Complete bliss and massive wreckage to the bank account!

I love Rasputins, both times I have been there I wanted so much...and spent too much....I am glad i don't live there or i would be broke for sure.

In Philadelphia, I pretty much order everything from the Net. Century Media, Laser's Edge, The End, and occasionally Alta Mira have gotten my business.

Nice that most of those (plus others like Sentinal Steel) will be at the show. The CD displays are awesome.
