Another band for Depeche Mode Era Soilwork fans

Depeche Mode era = the catchy melodic chorus style they developed on Natural Born Chaos. It compares to the smilar style that Depeche Mode used during their 80's heyday. It's a long ass ways from Chainheart.

Thank you, Glenn. Your quickly entered definition probably headed off at least 10 posts calling me a moron. :)

Moron!!!!!!! :)

I actually think NBC is a pretty different sound for them... it's a long ass ways from Chainheart Machine (et al), but it seems like they only stayed with the melo-depressing sound for one album before moving on to their modern thrashy/core-y sound. Then again, I have not heard them since Stabbing the Drama.

I don't think Soilwork has any real metalcore elements in their music. For me the ultra-new-wave-bland-formulaic-gheyness-at-the-expense-of-cool-riffage lasted for at least two albums: NBC and FNF. Stabbing the Drama is a bit heavier, but the songs are still quite lackluster to my ears. I actually ended up liking Sworn to a Great Divide. It's nothing compared to Chainheart and Predator's Portrait, of course, but they finally were able to write catchy songs again. We'll see what the next album brings.

I love all versions of Soilwork, I am glad that Wischers is back in the band again where he belongs. My favs are NBC and STD but Predators Portrait got me into the band!

Oh I love how this turned into a Soilwork thread..... I need to check out this other band but there can be only one Soilwork and In Flames and Chimera and ...

Bear

I get what John Frank means, but the band who I'd attribute more with a painfully bad Depeche Mode era is Paradise Lost, NOT Soilwork.
