No offense but this sounds like plastic to me...
That kick sounds really fake, and the snare sounds like a plastic can...
The programming doesn't help either, you could try some more ambience/reverb on snare

btw, i love little poppy snares, its all in taste i guess, haha. kick to me doesnt sound too fake, at least not to todays standards.

Yeah, I like the punchy snares and deeper kicks, it's all gonna be a matter of taste, but in the end I feel it doesn't really fit the mix, as if it sounded too sampled.

Oh yeah, this snare sound a lot better. I don't dig the kick drum at all, but the snare sounds a lot better.

Mind posting some presets? what processing did you do to the 12A snare?

snare has some urs strip pro on it... a little comp and eq... and the cymbals are all routed to a group channel with slates suggested eq.

NRG room used for all cymbals with some eq as well
