Ralph: I will spare you the twelve year history of Imagika and take you to the important things right away. What counts in this case is the album 'Devils On Both Sides'. This Neil Kernon produced effort is history repeated in a slightly more modern way. Bay Area thrashers watch out because this album will take you back in time without sounding outdated! Before you realize it, the first two tracks, 'In Your Shadow' and 'Hexed' are over and what is left are eight more, dynamic thrash songs. The complexity of Forbidden is combined with the melodies of Vicious Rumors. A very well constructed wall of guitars is the basis for all of Imagika's efforts here. What else do we want from this kind of music? Norman Skinner is a good singer that masters the aggressive parts just as well as the more sensitive passages. A tight rhythm section makes sure everybody stays focused and the songs itself sound mature. Pioneering? No! Original? No! Kick ass thrash? Hell yeah!
