You weren't kidding about the acquired taste part. I think I could get into that...but it'll take some time and quite a few listens. I love the music though. It's quite pretty...sort of shades of Pagan's Mind.
Got this when it came out. Released on Samoth from Emperor's Nocturnal Art label with distro from Candlelight. Pretty nuts that this band is a 3 piece too. Overall, it's a bit self-indulgent. It's like a modern version of Cynic's "Focus" but the songs just come off long for the sake of being so. Solid CD.
This album is amazing. I also just noticed it is only 7 dollars at Laser's Edge. They are the ones who convinced me to buy it at ProgPower a few years ago for 20 so the 7 is easily worth it. I also like their first album, I don't think it's as strong in terms of progressive elements but it still has some awesome tracks on it.
Warring Factions is wicked, espcially "Sierra Day", that song just rips. Very far-out stuff and the vocals are quite weird, very primal in execution for such quirky, technical tunes.
