It's been well over a week since the Virgin Music festival here in the DC area. Wolfmother, Gnarls Barkely, the Racontouers, the Killers, the Who, and Red hot chili peppers. I dug just one song by the racontours. Wolfmother were great musicians whose singer annoys the fuck out of me(sound familiar?!?). The Who were absolutly mind numbingly amazing. Daltry was just about as perfect and energetic as one can get. Townsend was just as spot on. He reminded me alot of Scott Ian and you could definitely note that Scott Ian's playing has been influenced by him. If Scott Ian went to the see them back in the day at MSG, I wouldn't be surprised. The Red hot Chili peppers were amazing too. I know they're sick of playing it but I resented them not playing Under the Bridge. Amazing show nonetheless. I thought I liked the Killers until I saw them live. They were such a bore. It was during their set that I decided to have a little rendezvous with the chick that I went with.

I hope Anthrax continue playing well into their 50's. It'd be cool to maybe one day see them at a festival. Maybe I'll just have to go to Europe next summer.

Dude, I was fucked up. I can't remember but I doubt it. I'm sure if you search around on the net you can find a set list. As a matter of fact, I think I'll do that right now myself.

Mothers Milk is the best... I put on BSSM the other day - its still a great album.

Did they play the Special Secret Song Inside?

that my man is on the greatest chili pepper's album of all time. saw the video for "fight like a brave" on mtv 120 minutes and bought that album the next day. :headbang:

Fuckin love 'The Uplift Mofo Party Plan'. It's also my fav RHCP record along with What Hits?! Just killer material all the way through. 'Fight Like A Brave' along with 'Behind the sun' are reason alone to get it. :headbang:

I liked their old stuff the best. BSSM was good but anything before it was even better.

Your a knob then cause Californication and By The Way were great albums too! First 7 songs on Calif are some of the best stuff the bands ever done.

Pity the Chilli Peppers blow chunks now :(

I like Stadium Arcadium, some good songs and not so good, just falls a bit short compared to the previous 2 albums, just like the new Maiden does :Smug:

Nah. By The Way sucked and Californication was just OK. It just doesn't match their old stuff. When Hillel died is when they started to change, even though the songs I've heard from Mother's Milk were excellent. :headbang:

I saw The Who this year, and to be honest I really didn't expect too much.

Was I wrong! They were fucking amazing. If you get the chance to see them live, do it. They ruled.

Fuck yeah they were amazing !!! And I'm not just saying that because Daltry sang on the greated Anthrax record (well, almost, they should have replaced Ghost with Strap it On!).

This is a Who thread not Chili Peppers!! I think they still go it though. They're heavier than Metallica.
