i seriously don't see the need for antispyware. just stay away from Internet Explorer and smelly sites that want you to download and run programs on your computer, and that's all you need. one of my boxes has XP without antivirus or antispyware or antipopups or antifartsmell and it's rock stable, all it takes is a little care what you do with it.
OH have a firewall on, that's an absolute need, though if you have a router chances are you don't really even need one.

Yeah, I've been going 2 years with no harmful spyware or viruses at all. Everything's just fine, no crashes. I still run ad-aware every now and then but it never finds anything.

AVG is crap! I had AVG too, and Panda is superior in every aspect. Better than Norton too. Be sure to get the Platinum Internet Security 2006 version though.

The only problem with Panda is that it blocks too much!

And uninstall any other Spyware/adware software that you might have installed. Panda doesn't really like any other software of that kind on your computer.

for spyware i've got spybot: search & destroy, also ive got some mcafee suite which has anti-spyware and virus protection. not sure if it's any good though. I've also got avast, might look into this panda program
